Baby Jogger Summit XC
The Baby Jogger Summit XC is the perfect buggy for those who plan to get in an exercise session when taking their baby for a walk. Just because you are now looking after your little one, it doesn’t mean you can’t get fit and keep active!
As this buggy has been designed with joggers in mind, the handle is well padded and very sturdy. There is also a wrist strap attached to the handles to prevent the Baby Jogger Summit XC making a break for it should you lose your grip while running. This is a nice touch and not something that is seen on regular strollers.
It also has bike-style brake levers on the handle, giving you easy access to the breaking mechanism which is powerful enough to stop the Baby Jogger Summit XC when it is moving at a fast pace. There is also a foot brake for stopping more permanently. In case you are worried about how your baby is doing while you are pounding the pavement, there is a clear plastic window on the top of the hood, for which the attached cover can be fixed open or shut with Velcro.
While the hood of the stroller is pretty large and encompassing, it is fitted with side air vents that can be opened or covered to allow a good level of air circulation inside the buggy. This is great for keeping your little passenger cool on hot days. Alternatively, the hood can be pulled up and folded away. The back also folds away to give a large amount of air circulation for nap times and very hot days.
The usual features like a five point safety harness and storage bags are all present and correct. As this is a three wheeler, the front wheel can be locked into position so that it doesn’t turn. This is perfect for runners who don’t want their stroller veering about on the paths and pavements.
As the Baby Jogger Summit XC has been designed for joggers it is quite big and sturdy. The wheels are larger than average in order to give a smooth ride but this also means it does take up a lot of space.
If you want an urban stroller than can travel on any surface and allows you to keep fit while out and about, the Baby Jogger Summit XC is the perfect choice. Despite its size it does fold surprisingly easily, even compared with much smaller strollers on the market.
